Meet the team

My name is Lara and I am the vet that owns and manages the surgery here at Keighley Vets4Pets. I live in Silsden with my husband, three children - plus our border terrier Emily and rescue cat Poppy. I always wanted to be a vet and to have my own vet surgery, and since childhood I have kept cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, chickens and I also bred budgies for many years. I went to school in Skipton, studied Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge University, qualifying in 2006 and opened my Vets4Pets surgery here in 2013. I get great satisfaction from mending things, particularly in the operating theatre … but also outside of work with my toolbox doing DIY! I enjoy the outdoors, gardening, cooking and I’m a qualified gymnastics coach helping to train young gymnasts. I look forward to welcoming you and your pets to the surgery here at Keighley Vets4Pets.

Growing up in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, I’ve always fostered a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes. I went to school in Skipton and subsequently on to study Veterinary Medicine and Science, graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2017. I moved back to Yorkshire, initially working in a busy small animal hospital before joining the Keighley Vets4Pets team in April 2020. I have a strong interest in internal medicine, diagnostic imaging and general surgery. In my spare time I love to be outdoors. I'm a keen cyclist and also enjoy climbing mountains with my Viszla, Ernest, leading the way!

Following my interest in the sciences and family pets I qualified from the Glasgow University Veterinary School in 1999. After spending a few years in Newport Pagnell, I returned to the North in 2004 working in small animal practice in Lancashire. I have been with the Keighley Vets4Pets team from the day it opened in July 2013. I enjoy seeing all different types of pets when they are well and helping them if they are poorly as an all-round small animal general practitioner. I normally work Mondays and Tuesdays plus some weekends - the rest of my week is fully occupied by my little boy who loves being outside.

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2006 and after working in the Midlands for a couple of years I moved to Yorkshire and met my partner. I have been part of the team since 2017 after returning from maternity leave. I have a particular interest in Internal medicine especially Feline medicine but enjoy the variety that general practice brings. I can be found at the surgery on Wednesdays and Thursdays while the rest of my week I spend with my son & daughter, boxer dog and one-eyed cat.

I qualified at Liverpool University in 2017 and I have worked locally ever since. I joined the Keighley Vets4Pets team in June 2022 and I am excited to be able to help offer a bigger range of services for our clients. My main areas of interest are surgery (especially airway surgery for Brachycephalics), rabbits and dentistry! In my spare time I have a few ex-racehorses that I am enjoying retraining and competing, and also have a small flock of sheep… and loads of pets to keep me busy!

Kate Sheriff-Blay
Registered Veterinary Nurse

I'm Kate, the Client Services Manager at Keighley Vets4Pets. I've been qualified as a veterinary nurse for over 15 years and have a particular interest in canine behaviour. I completed a NVQ Level 3 in Veterinary Practice Management and lead the reception team on all aspects of service to our clients. I enjoy caving and scuba diving and share my home with Tui, a Labrador cross and a three legged German shepherd called Stig.

I'm Laura, I joined Keighley Vets4Pets in December 2015 as an apprentice, and became a Registered Veterinary Nurse after studying at the College of Animal Welfare in Leeds. I previously spent 5 years working in the horse racing industry, gaining a Level 3 Diploma in racehorse care. I'm now a clinical coach, mentoring our student veterinary nurses and veterinary care assistants through their qualifications. At home I have 2 guinea pigs. When I’m not studying I enjoy the outdoors, travelling, cooking and spending time with my friends and family. Favourite Animal: Guinea Pig

I qualified with a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing from Myerscough College in 2012. I joined the team at Keighley Vets4Pets in November 2016, and work part time; having worked in small animal practice since 2010. During this time I've developed a keen interest in surgical nursing, particularly orthopaedic surgery and patient aftercare. I have also lectured in veterinary nursing, and enjoy supporting the training of student nurses. I live in Sutton with my dog, Ella-Doo, who I rescued as a puppy when she came into practice needing treatment. She loves chasing balls, swimming & playing! Outside of work I enjoy riding Ted, my Irish Sports Horse. At 18 hands, he’s a gentle giant who’s currently perfecting his jumping technique.

Hello, I’m Chelsea and I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2021. I've completed further training in physiotherapy for pets and am enjoying offering this additional service to our patients. I adore Scotties and Cockapoos. I live near Leeds and love to go on walks, spend time with my family and my partner. I enjoy music, gigs and festivals. Working for Vets4Pets has been brilliant, and I look forward to gaining more knowledge and getting to know new people.

Hi I’m Anna, I joined the Keighley Vets4Pets team in May 2022 and I am currently training to become a Veterinary Nurse. I have two cheeky dachshunds called Ralph and Lola and they are where my love and interest for all animals began. In my spare time I love doing sports, travelling with my partner, seeing live music and exploring new places with my daxies. I am excited to see where my nursing career will take me and I look forward to meeting everyone’s great pets!

Hi I'm Claire. I've worked as a veterinary care assistant for over 5 years and in 2022 I began an apprenticeship to train to become a veterinary nurse.

My favourite animal is anything with a waggly tail! My future ambition is to complete my Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship and work towards joining the apprentice vet nurses round the back!

I currently live at home in Keighley with my mum and sister, and our unruly 20 year old ginger tom, Ziggy. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with family and catching up with friends. I can be seen both on reception and behind the scenes assisting the nursing team.

Hi I’m Olivia, I currently live in Haworth. I have always loved animals so love seeing our patients bundle into reception(especially the puppies). In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends and I love visiting new places! I completed my Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship in spring 2021 on reception and have now recently qualified as a Veterinary Care Assistant with The College of Animal Welfare.(October 2022)
