Iain Cope BSc(VetSci)Hons BVM&S CertAVP(ZM) MRCVS

Practice Owner and Veterinary Surgeon, RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine

Iain Cope graduated in 2006 from Edinburgh University and has worked in mixed, small animal, and exotics and zoo practices. 

He gained his certificate in Zoological Medicine in 2011 and since 2014 is an RCVS recognized Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine. 

Iain is the JVP of Vets4Pets Newmarket and is pleased to be able to offer a cat, dog, rabbit and exotic animal practice with the latest equipment and facilities. 

Iain also teaches nurses and veterinary surgeons and talks nationally and internationally. He has been published in peer reviewed veterinary journals and participates on boards and committees. 

Iain owns a tortoise called Matilda and four Leopard Geckos.

Nora Chimeno Mañas DVM MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Nora joined Vets4Pets Newmarket in January 2017, after qualifying from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2013. Before joining us Nora has previously worked in wildlife rescue centres and in general practice, as well as being a veterinary intern in a referral hospital attending to consultations and surgical procedures.

Nora has a particular interest in wildlife and birds, as well as enjoying dermatology and surgery.

Outside of work Nora spends time running, bird watching and cuddling her two pet rats.

Sharon Shipway RVN BSc (Hons) PG Dip CABC

Registered Veterinary Nurse and Behaviourist

Sharon began working as a student veterinary nurse in 1997, after working for a few years in an animal sanctuary and pursuing her passion for animals. 

Whilst being a student nurse and working in various first opinion practices in and around Cambridge, Sharon gained a Degree in Animal Behaviour/Environmental Biology and quickly followed it with a post graduate diploma in companion animal behaviour counselling and an advanced diploma in companion animal behaviour therapy. 

After a break to start a family Sharon qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2015 and joined Newmarket Vets4Pets in September 2016. 

Sharon runs our behavior and training clinics and takes referrals from other practices. At home Sharon has one crazy neurotic collie called Ralph and two demanding greedy cats called Fraggle and Muppett; as well as two loving time consuming children!

Gemma Fox RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Gemma has been nursing since 2002 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2005 whilst working in a mixed practice. 

Gemma has worked mixed and small animal practices in Surrey, Norfolk and Suffolk, before joining Vets4Pets Newmarket in September 2016. 

Gemma enjoys all aspects of nursing, but in particular anaesthesia, nutrition and exotics nursing. 

Gemma has two crazy Springer Spaniels called Buzz and Nutmeg who keep her on her toes outside of work.

Emily Grinnell RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Emily qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2014, after studying at the College of Animal Welfare in Huntingdon. She has worked in first opinion and referral hospitals around Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, before joining Vets4Pets Newmarket in October 2016. 

Emily loves all aspects of nursing, it giving her a great sense of satisfaction to be able to help, care for and nurse sick animals back to health. 

Emily has a keen interest in anaesthesia, nursing clinics, neonatal care, and nursing exotic patients, and is studying for the Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. 

At home Emily has a very handsome kitten called Eric who she hand reared from birth, as well as two naughty Degus called Harvey and Barry.

Amber Mills VCA

Veterinary Care Assistant

Before joining Vets4Pets in April I gained experience working in a veterinary referral centre, specialising in the neurology and opthamology ward. 


I love working with animals, particularly being part of their recovery and assist in nursing them back to being healthy happy pets. I'm very keen to pursue my long term career goal of completing my veterinary nursing qualification and am excited to work towards this. 


At home I have two crazy Pugs named Millie and Reggie who enjoy being active members of our local dog walking group.

Jessica

Receptionist

Jess joined Vets4Pets Newmarket in October 2016 as one of the receptionists after spending 10 years in Hospitality. 

Jess is very excited by this change in direction and a chance to follow her dream of working in the animals sector. 

She particularly enjoys meeting all the animals and their owners, and has spent time volunteering with birds of prey and exotic small animals. 

At home Jess has 2 dogs, 7 Chickens and a house rabbit called Hughie.

Ella

Receptionist

Ella joined Vets4Pets Newmarket in November 2016 as a receptionist and is loving seeing all of the different patients that visit, especially when they leave feeling better. She likes being part of the friendly and welcoming team at the vets. 

Ella studied for a National Diploma in Animal Management after finishing school, and is currently attending college once a week studying as a veterinary nursing assistant. 

Out of work Ella lives with her partner and four cats, Nooky, Lexi, Pumpkin and Hershey.

Chloe

Receptionist

Chloe joined as a receptionist at Newmarket Vets4Pets in September 2016 and is our Community Champion. This means she is the point of contact for students, schools and community events, She also helps with any charity events the practice is involved with. 

 As well as being a receptionist here, Chloe is also currently a second year degree student studying Equine Science and Rehabilitation at the College of West Anglia/Anglia Ruskin. 

Chloe loves working with the clients and patients, along with learning about the care of small animals and exotics. 

Chloe’s other passion involves horses and she currently loans a 16.3hh, 17y/o Dutch Warmblood called Simson. She would love to find a young horse to own so that Simson can enjoy his retirement, and Chloe can continue to compete regularly in dressage events. 

Chloe recently became the Preliminary Veteran Champion 2016/17 with Simson, winning their first title together.
