Meet the team

I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2000. Having worked in several practices both in the North of England and abroad I finally set my roots down on the Wirral. Commuting to Stockport daily was taking its toll on myself and my young family. Fortunately I was able to relocate to a new branch of Vets for Pets much closer to home.
My professional interests include both surgery and medicine of family pets. However over the years I have had the pleasure of working with less common pets including lizards and snakes, tortoises and turtles, hedgehogs and foxes and even seahorses, spiders and crocodiles. I have a special interest in using acupuncture to complement conventional medicine and help my patients.
My two young sons, two energetic terriers, chickens and a tabby cat occupy most of my spare time. Otherwise I like to be out mountain biking, trail running or dabbling in a range of DIY projects at home.

I graduated in 2014 in Lithuania, I moved to the UK after qualifying as a Veterinary Surgeon and since have worked at various practices all over the UK. I joined the Vets for Pets family in 2017 and have worked for the company ever since! My professional interests are internal medicine and soft tissue surgery which I am currently working towards an extra certificate in.
In my spare time I love wild camping, mountaineering, water sports and anything to be in the outdoors with my two wolf dogs Apache and Cherokee. I also have a cat called Fergie who loves to go on outdoor adventures and my two horses West and Pumpuras who I’ve trained in natural horsemanship!

I graduated from Ankara University, Turkey in 2021. After working in a small animal practice in my hometown for couple of months, I decided to move to the UK. I joined the Vets for Pets family in 2024!
I used to spend my spare time with my lovely calico cat Uzim (meaning Grapes) whilst I was living in Turkey, She now lives with my parents.
I love tech things and time to time walking around. Also I love the wild, I was a member of wild rescue team of my university.

Hi, my name is Steph. I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse. I’ve always wanted to work with animals from a very young age. I have a degree in animal health and welfare. I have worked for Vets for Pets for the last 6 years.
Before getting into the veterinary industry, I was a customer service account manager for an office solutions company. My very first job was a dairy hand on a farm in Cheshire.
I have a German shepherd called Fender, and a special French bulldog called Fidget who you’ll see in practice or should I say hear as she has a little bell attached to her collar! I have a soft spot for the larger dog breeds especially German shepherds and the golden oldies!

I first started volunteering in a veterinary practice after school when I was 12 years old. I studied a diploma in animal management at Mysercough. I got my first job in the veterinary industry in 2019 working as a Veterinary Care assistant for PDSA animal hospital where I gained a broad experience in all aspects of the job. I then went on to join Vets for Pets in 2021 as a Veterinary Care assistant to go on to complete my Veterinary Nursing training.
I have a cocker spaniel called Maple and an axolotl called Boo, as well as looking after a little frug (Frenchie x Pug) called Luna!

Hi, my name is Leanne,
Before getting my nursing qualification I worked for 2 years at Chester zoo, I always knew I wanted to work with animals from a very young age.
I qualified and registered as a nurse in 2017 from Myerscough College in Preston and have worked as a veterinary nurse ever since.
My current areas of interest are pathology and weight management clinics.
Apart from the Veterinary industry my other passion is travelling, having visited 24 countries including Nepal’s Everest base camp.
I currently live with 3 Chihuahuas, 4 cats and 15 Budgies!

Hi, I am Jen,
I was in practice for 6 years before qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 2025. Some key aspects of my career include volunteering in Aruba in a veterinary practice and a donkey sanctuary. Also, working with a variety of animals including zoo, farm, exotic and small ! My areas of interest within Veterinary nursing include, nutrition, behaviour, medicine and anaesthesia.
Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors especially on the beach, spending time with my two German Shepherds and crossing off out travel bucket list !

Marie O'Connor
Registered Veterinary Nurse & Practice Manager
RVN CertNCS (VPM)
I am a qualified Veterinary Nurse listed with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. I have always loved animals much to the dismay of my parents when I brought cats and dogs home that weren’t necessarily lost all the time. I drifted into Veterinary Nursing after working for a few years in an office based job. Since qualifying I have worked at the Liverpool University Small Animal Hospital. I worked in the PDSA animal hospital and Vets Now as an emergency nurse for 11 years, I then went on to become a head nurse at Crawford and Crawford’s vets. I moved back to working on the Wirral when joining Vets for Pets in 2018 and have moved on from Head nurse to Practice Manager for the practice supporting the staff and caring for all the animals.
Outside of work I love being outdoors. I have a campervan I have converted myself and take any opportunity to get away, into nature, enjoying live music with my dog and my partner and friends around a camp fire.

Hey I’m Rachel! I joined the Vets for Pets family in January 2022 after working in another practice on the Wirral. I love spending time with my family going out on walks with our rescue English Bulldog called Piggy. My favourite thing is baking cakes with my mum and children and you`ll always see my on reception with a lovely cup of tea and big smile!

Hey I’m Abby! I’ve been working for Vets for Pets since 2017. It’s lovely to work with such a supportive and helpful team. I have a background in customer service and aviation having previously worked at the airport. I have a 2 year old and a 10 year old our newest addition Teddy the cat! My favourite treat during the week is a Costa hot chocolate and some cheeky shortbreads!

I first started working for Vets for Pets in September 2021 on a maternity contract and loved the company so much I decided to stay on permanently! I hadn’t previously worked in the veterinary industry as I have a retail and customer service background but I love animals that much I decided to pursue a career with animals! I am a bubbly and chatty person hence why I love my client care advisor role at Bromborough as I get to meet all the lovely clients and pets on a day to day basis!
At home I have two rescue cats called Maki and Luna from Skiathos who I adore along with my other cat called Sammy. Every year I volunteer in Skiathos for the Skiathos Cat Welfare Association in the neutering scheme where we feed and care for 5,000 cats all over the island.

I joined Vets for Pets Bromborough in December 2022. Having previously come from an NHS pharmaceutical career I had never worked within this environment before. I thought I would struggle but in fact I settled in really quickly with such a supportive team around me. I absolutely love a puppy cuddle, I`d take them all home if I could! I am a bubbly person who loves engaging with all the clients on a daily basis!
Earlier this year I took on two 7-week-old kittens who came into the practice, they are a cheeky duo! Eventually I would love to rehome a dog!

I joined the Bromborough team in 2022 after working in another busy Wirral practice as a receptionist. I wanted to progress in the industry and further my knowledge therefore I took up a Veterinary Care Assistant role here at Bromborough. My passion has always been animals, having worked mostly with dogs, cats and horses for many years, which has driven my career path. I also have a keen interest in nutrition and enrichment.
My beautiful 2 young children keep me busy outside of work, I enjoy family days out and have a gorgeous blue merle Border collie called Milo who I do agility and obedience with.

I joined the team in July 2023 as a Veterinary Care Assistant. I did an animal care/management diploma for three years and did volunteering work for a local ferret rescue on the weekends!
Working for Vets for Pets is very rewarding, as I get to care for the animals during their stay here at the practice!
Vets for Pets Bromborough is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
